Hydro generators engineered and built alongside our turbine lines: vertical sets to 20 MW, horizontal sets to 6.3 MW, with patented wireless rotor temperature monitoring and VPI insulation — delivered as part of the same turnkey scope as the turbine they drive.
TC builds hydro generators in both vertical and horizontal configurations. Vertical sets run up to 20 MW on frames to 4,250 mm; horizontal sets up to 6.3 MW on frames to 2,150 mm — covering the small and medium hydro range end to end, and matching any turbine in our Francis, Kaplan, Pelton and tubular lines.



Buried rotor sensors can't be read continuously on traditional sets — so the rotor runs blind. TC's wireless rotor temperature system transmits readings from the rotating rotor via bluetooth to the monitoring screen: real-time values, no slip-ring wear, no wiring across the air gap. The technology is protected by national patents and is available on new sets and as a retrofit.
Stator coils are wound in-house and consolidated by vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI), then cured in a temperature-controlled oven. Whole-stator drying before shipment keeps moisture out of the insulation system — the difference between a generator that tests well in the hall and one that holds up years later in a humid river valley.


Every generator passes through the in-house test center: high-voltage DC testing of the winding, instrumentation checks, and run-in on the test bench. Rotors and key castings are inspected by dye penetrant and ultrasonic testing before machining. The objective is simple: nothing on site should be the first time it runs.



TC's hydro-mechanical manufacturing base has delivered more than 300 generating sets to over 100 power stations, with exports to 10+ countries across North America, South Asia and Africa. TC took part in drafting China's national standard GB/T 50700-2011, Technical code for renovation of small hydropower stations.
